Bank Street Theater Restoration
New Milford, Connecticut

This early twentieth-century theatre was recently purchased with the intention to renovate and update this historic Art Deco landmark located on picturesque Bank Street in downtown New Milford, Connecticut.

The theatre was built in 1930 and has served as the local community theatre since that time.

The restoration is intended to respect the historical integrity of the Art Deco style, and incorporate new infrastructure elements as well as required ADA updates. The lobby, ticketing area, toilet rooms, concession area and three theatres are being addressed.

Existing terrazzo flooring will be refurbished and supplemented with new broadloom carpet to balance acoustic concerns. New millwork detailing will reflect and re-interpret the original period design, incorporating the use of stainless steel, aluminum and period color palettes.

Project Scope
Area: 3,500 sq. ft.
